Getting a network with a max of only 20 Million potential subscribers in


your footprint is much more difficult than the ACC's task of getting a network with the largest population footprint of the Power 5.

(Mike Golic said in one of ESPN's videos that the Big 12's max number of subscribers is 'what 20 million'. I think that is a high estimate.)

Since the Big 12 is not expanding, they will never get a network. Even if they did expand, would the candidates bring enough interest from within their states for the cable companies to 'have to' carry the network. Most likely not. Not without poaching from other P5 leagues.
